After a fur-midable face-off on the campaign trail, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± can reveal that the winner of our Purr Minister 2024 competition is the magnificent Attlee, owned by the Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP.
Attlee was named Parliament's Top Cat after securing 969 votes from the public. The well-earned title was closely fought this time, with Attlee triumphing over Layla Moran MP's senior moggie, Murphy, by just 40 votes.
Attlee's popular policies were set out in his Manifursto where he pledged the following:
- I know 'Furrskine' May like the back of my paw.
- As a DiploCat, I have a firm claw on international diplomacy and strengthening interpurrlimentary ties.
- I respect the hiss-tory of Purr-liament.
- I will purr-tect the parliamentary community.
- I'll be an 'Advocat' for ensuring fellow felines have a purrfect experience in the House.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, Speaker of the House of Commons, and proud owner of Attlee, said: "I’m over the moon that Attlee has been crowned Purr Minister. His manifursto clearly resonated with the public, and I’m so proud of his campaign’s focus on fostering stronger community spirit and prioritising cat welfare. Thank you to everyone who voted – Attlee promises to fulfil his commitments with the grace and determination we all expect of him."
мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± would like to thank all the MPs and Peers who took part for their competitive spirit, and to all members of the public who voted. We'd also like to congratulate Attlee on his victory. We’re sure he'll make a pawsome Purr Minister!
